The 2013 Living Legacy recipients will be honored at the third annual NWHM de Pizan Honors ceremony on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Mead Center for American Theater, Washington, DC. The de Pizan honors were established by NWHM in 2011 to recognize women of historic accomplishment with an award in the name of a leading counterpart who was a trailblazer in history. World renowned mezzo soprano Denyce Graves; breast cancer screening pioneer radiologist Dr. Etta D. Pisano; American Tony Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad; and, environmental preservationist, Sally Jewell, Secretary of the Interior (video acceptance) are the 2013 recipients of the National Womenís History Museumís (NWHM) Living Legacy Awards at the NWHM de Pizan Honors, and acclaimed history making documentary film producer Ken Burns (video acceptance) will receive the Henry Blackwell Award.
